Holiday homes – Dinan

Dinan is one of the best preserved medieval towns in France. Renting a holiday home in Dinan will give a unique experience of  French life and Breton culture. Cobbled streets wind through half timbered houses  leading to a fine stone castle and impressive town ramparts. There is a good selection of restaurants and crepêries, as well as artists’ galleries and you’ll also find skilled craftsmen and women displaying their creations. You can stock up on fresh provisions from one of the many food shops in the town, or browse the stalls at the weekly market held every Thursday morning.

Every two years, the town plays host to a weekend-long Medieval Festival  (Fête des Remparts) celebrating the life and culture at the time the town was built – an unforgettable experience.

From the town centre, you can descend the steep ‘rue du Jerzual‘  – this unspoilt street with it’s centuries-old houses and craft shops is a  fascinating trip back in time.  At the bottom of the hill , you’ll discover the pretty port of Dinan which grew up along the river Rance. Nowadays, you can hire a boat or a bike and explore the river at your own pace , or simply enjoy a drink or a meal at one of the many riverside cafés or restaurants.
