Known as the Emerald coast from the beautiful green colour of the sea , this part of the Brittany coastline is rightly popular with both visitors and locals . If you start at the remarkable Abbey of Mont St Michel, and work your way west, you’ll find safe family beaches, rugged cliffs and stylish seaside towns and villages.
The walled city of St Malo is a fascinating place to explore, and has some fantastic sandy beaches often overlooked by visitors arriving by ferry into the port. Across the river Rance is the elegant Victorian resort of Dinard, and then a series of seaside villages linked by gently shelving sandy beaches and rocky headlands. The coastal footpath ( Grande Randonnée 34) runs along this beautiful coastline and will take you to some less well known and quieter spots where you can escape the crowds even in the summer.
Our selection of holiday homes by the sea make a perfect base to relax and explore this beautiful coastline.
